Wildebeest
Originally a
nomadic African grazer, these migratory animals have dwindled in numbers that no
longer match their previous herd sizes. Both
the male and female have permanently attached horns and usually are only
distinguishable by weight, the male being up to 20 percent heavier.
During migration
these large beast use their overdeveloped forequarters to cover the long
distances traveled at these times. The
Wildebeest has a long, narrow face to go with its long legs and large body.
