Aoudad Aoudad, also known as Barbary sheep, have tan coats consisting of short smooth hair, but its eyes could be considered its most outstanding feature with its horizontal pupil surrounded by a brilliant yellow iris. More pronounced on the male are the long hairs of the mane and leg fringes which tend to brush the ground. Aoudad horns start appearing soon after birth and reach lengths up to 32 inches, in the males, with bases around 14 inches or more. The mature Texas Aoudad male can grow in heights up to 44 inches and can weigh as much as 320 pounds.
